Hannes has been working as a field service lighting consultant on the XAL Switzerland team for over eight years and develops customised lighting solutions for his customers. A career in light
Hannes began his career by training as an electrician. During his further training as a lighting designer, he deepened his understanding of the creative effect of light in architecture. He was fascinated by the possibility of using light to create a specific ambiance and set the scene for architecture. When the opportunity arose to join XAL as a lighting consultant, he snapped it up. Initially working in the office as a Key Account Manager, he later moved to work out in the field. He has been successfully applying his expertise there for many years and is now an integral part of the company.
Day-to day work as a Lighting Consultant
As a Lighting Consultant out in the field, Hannes develops lighting concepts for interior designers, architects and property owners His focus is on individual consultation to be able to develop customised solutions that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. With the help of 3D visualisation tools and lighting calculations, he is able to show his customers the effect light has on the project at an early stage.

Success as a team
The lighting consultant in the field thrives on a passion for lighting – as well as the motivation and ambition to always find the best possible solution for the customer. Flexibility, excellent communication skills and the ability to respond to individual customer needs are particularly important. 
Hannes particularly values the close cooperation with the team in the back office and at our headquarters in Austria. Only through this strong cooperation can the most complex customer requests be successfully implemented.
