Shopping experience in the best light
Domenico embarked on his professional career as an electrician and trained as a technical salesman before going on to become a marketing manager. Today he is Head of Key Account Management Switzerland at XAL. His focus is on optimising the lighting of sales spaces, particularly in high-end retail, and he oversees roll-outs worldwide. He also develops customised lighting solutions for renowned luxury brands in the watch and jewellery segment. Together with his four-person key account team, he successfully meets the requirements of architects, interior designers and international brands.
Day-to-day work as a Key Account Manager
As Head of Key Account Management Switzerland, Domenico develops innovative lighting solutions for his customers. In close coordination with all those involved in the project, he ensures that the lighting concepts are customised to requirements. In addition to organising international store roll-outs, as Sales Manager he is also responsible for commercial areas such as budgeting, sales management, sales figure analysis, and strategic customer acquisition measures.

Passion and drive for light
Domenico is particularly passionate about the dynamics of lighting design – “it gives me the opportunity to keep my finger on the pulse and develop both professionally and personally”. For him, light is an impactful design element in interior architecture, especially in retail spaces, where it creates ambience, sparks emotions and plays a crucial part in the shopping experience. It is a versatile tool that brings spaces to life and creates an environment promoting well-being where people enjoy spending time.
