With an efficiency of up to 144 lm/W, ENVIVA saves energy, costs and CO₂. Despite its slim profile of just 5/8" in it provides direct and indirect lighting as well as glare-free working light (up to UGR ≤ 10). Extruded profiles made from Hydro low-carbon aluminium and available in raw aluminium, black or white. The clearly separable components allow for optimal recycling - meaning ENVIVA always remains firmly rooted in the future.
Whether in modern offices, meeting spaces, home offices or stylish hotels – ENVIVA is a perfect fit wherever clean design meets sustainable values. Glare-free light (up to UGR ≤ 10) ensures optimal conditions in workplaces.
Minimalist design
Minimalist, yet anything but unremarkable: With a height of just 5/8" in, ENVIVA impresses with direct and indirect lighting and a raw aluminium surface that imparts character and vibrancy.
Up to 58% less power consumption in the use phase.
During this phase, ENVIVA saves as much CO₂ as a tree (e.g. a spruce) would absorb over 38 years.1
High efficiency: 144 lm/W
The use phase determines how sustainable a light truly is, as this is when around 90% of total CO₂ emissions are generated. With an optical efficiency of up to 90% and an efficiency of up to 144 lm/W, ENVIVA delivers precise light with the lowest possible energy consumption. High application efficiency ensures that light reaches exactly where it is needed—without spill. This reduces energy consumption for the same application.
Long service life
ENVIVA is designed to provide many years of reliable service. High-quality, long-lasting components and a timeless design ensure that it is both visually and technically durable. In the spirit of reduce, reuse, recycle, individual components can be easily replaced if necessary. This ensures that the lighting fixture is always up to date. And even after that, ENVIVA lives on – recycled and in a new form as part of the future.
90% of greenhouse gases are produced during the use phase of a lighting fixture and 10% during production and recycling.
Each phase is optimized
In the life cycle of a lighting fixture, around 90% of CO₂ emissions are produced during the use phase, only 9% during production and 1% at the end of the life cycle. That is why we have always optimized the energy efficiency of our products - with high luminous flux per watt, efficient lighting control and sensor technology. With ENVIVA, we are consistently developing this approach further and reducing emissions across all phases.

Less material, more impact
Minimal when it comes to materials, but without compromising on function, efficiency or aesthetics – every component fulfils its exact purpose. Total weight reduced by 45%. A noticeable difference during installation, handling and transport. ENVIVA shows just how easy sustainability can be.
Low-emission aluminium
Extruded profiles made from Hydro low-carbon aluminium – an aluminium produced using renewable energy from water and wind power. With only a maximum of 1 lb CO2-eq per lb, it produces around 75% fewer emissions than the global average for conventionally produced aluminium.
Selected colors
The surface of ENVIVA can be left deliberately untreated – visible marks such as fingerprints are evidence of use and lend the raw aluminium character and vitality. Alternatively, there are black and white versions available, which are powder-coated in a climate-friendly way at our plant. The black and raw aluminum versions are paired with a black canopy and cable, while the white version comes with a matching white canopy and cable. The louver and spotline optics are also available in different colors, offering optimal design possibilities.
Made in-house
We manufacture in-house – with state-of-the-art technologies and passion in-house. We are involved in every step of our value chain: from the initial idea and precise production to the final assembly and careful quality control. This end-to-end oversight makes it possible not only to promise quality, but to deliver it day after day. The result is ENVIVA, a long-lasting, high-performance lighting fixture that meets the most exacting demands.
ENVIVA remains. Part of the loop. Part of the future.
Simple recycling
ENVIVA is consistently circular in its approach. Each and every component can be dismantled using a patent-pending mechanism and easily separated without tools – from the aluminium profile to the electrical components. All connections use a simple click mechanism. No screws. No adhesive. With minimal material use. This means that the individual parts always find their way back into the loop. Again and again.
With an ENVIVA suspended, a total of close to 880 lb CO2-eq is saved.
This is roughly equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of one person.
Transparency
ENVIVA is synonymous with transparent sustainability and this is why we make the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for our lighting fixtures freely available.
There’s not a simple answer to this, as sustainability takes many different factors into account. Wood is a natural material, so at first glance it appears the more environmentally friendly choice. In practice, however, it is often incinerated after use instead of being reused.
Aluminium, on the other hand, can be recycled very easily – time and time again. We use low-carbon aluminium for our lighting fixture, which is produced using renewable energy. This saves us up to 75% CO₂ compared to conventional aluminium – and keeps the material in the loop.
Does the aluminium change during use?
Yes, aluminium changes with use and that is precisely what gives it its unique character. Each lighting fixture is given its very own signature right from the production stage: small differences and subtle marks reveal the manufacturing process and make each ENVIVA unique.
Signs of wear and tear such as fingerprints appear over time and bring the material to life. Each mark becomes part of its history and unique patina.
If the raw aluminium is too vibrant for you, you can opt for a powder-coated version – produced in Slovenia in a climate-friendly way.
Is the carbon footprint from manufacturing a good measure of sustainability?
Not entirely, as it only tells part of the story. This usually refers to the GWP total (global warming potential), i.e. the extent to which a product contributes to climate change. The main focus here is on emissions during manufacture.
With natural materials such as wood, this value may even be negative because wood stores CO₂. This CO₂ is often released again at the end of the life cycle, e.g. during incineration. This is why it makes sense to consider these effects separately when comparing materials.
However: Only around 9% of carbon emissions from a lighting fixture are generated during production – 90% occur during the use phase. This is why a good guide value when considering carbon emissions is lumens per watt. The higher this value, the less energy the lighting fixture consumes – and the lower its carbon footprint during operation.
Why does the entire life cycle come into the equation?
Particularly when it comes to lighting fixtures, it is important to consider the entire life cycle – not just the manufacturing process. This is because the majority of CO₂ emissions are caused by electricity consumption during the product’s service life.
For example: A lighting fixture with low emissions during the manufacturing process but lower efficiency can perform significantly worse over its service life than a more efficient lighting fixture with higher emissions during manufacturing. With ENVIVA this is a decision you don’t have to worry about, as we have optimized every aspect.
How can I reduce ENVIVA’s electricity consumption even further?
The integrated sensor module ensures that ENVIVA only switches on when light is needed and only as brightly as needed. Our lighting design experts will help you to utilise the full efficiency potential.
Here’s another tip: With electricity from renewable sources, you also significantly reduce emissions.
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardised, verified document that provides objective and comparable information on the environmental impact of a product. You can find all the information you need in our know-how article.
What support does XAL provide for repairs and upgrades?
Sustainability also means longevity. This is why ENVIVA is designed so that every single component can be simply replaced or upgraded. Our Smart Services team will be happy to help, so that your lighting fixture can remain in use for as long as possible.
